Welcome to Chaat Stop

Real Heritage. Wholefoods. Nonsense-Free Munch.

Food is better with company.

Our Story

Long before Chaat Stop became a catering setup, it was a daily way of life.

Growing up in Chennai, my earliest memories aren’t of dining tables—they are of being perched squarely on my Paati’s hip in a warm, steam-filled kitchen. She cooked with an effortless generosity, feeding waves of relatives, neighbours, and complete strangers who dropped by just to taste her food. In our household, food wasn’t an afterthought; gatherings were built entirely around sharing real meals and real feelings.

That deep South Indian reverence for hospitality stayed with me. But when I met my husband, our culinary map doubled. He brought his own North-Western roots to the kitchen: the slow-cooked, deeply comforting spice profiles of Punjab, paired with the light, sweet-and-savoury farsan (street snacks) of Gujarat.

When we cooked together, something clicked. Our tables became a vibrant crossover of crispy Chennai tiffin, fire-roasted Punjabi spices, and tangy Gujarati chaats.

The Philosophy: Nonsense-Free Munch with Wholefoods

Street food in the UK often gets a bad reputation for being greasy, heavy, or loaded with hidden ultra-processed shortcuts. We set out to prove the exact opposite.

Real Indian street food, as it was originally made in home kitchens and traditional stalls, relies on wholesome base ingredients: unrefined pulses, whole grains, freshly toasted seeds, raw jaggery, cold-pressed oils, and herbs plucked that morning. Paati never used artificial colourings, commercial spice pastes, or cheap fillers—and neither do we.

At Chaat Stop, we deliver nonsense-free munch made entirely with wholefoods.

It is vibrant, texture-packed food that feeds your soul without leaving you in a heavy food coma. Whether it’s a live chaat counter for a wedding, an office pop-up, or a backyard milestone party, we bring our combined Chennai, Punjabi, and Gujarati heritage straight to your guests—cooked fresh, kept honest, and served with zero fuss.
